Wherever you are on the health continuum, you can always raise your level... In a study at the Tufts University Medical Center, researchers took 90+ year old men who were living in nursing homes and who were totally incapacitated and put them into a weight lifting, strength-conditioning program. Not only did they discover that every one of these incapacitated 90 plus-year olds was able to engage in exercise at some level, the result was that they increased their strength by 114%, which allowed these 90 year old men to become free standing and mobile. No they didn't enroll these men in Gold's Gym and they weren't lifting 350 pounds, but it was the right kind of graded exercise for each individual's capability, and it allowed them to build strength and endurance. They were all over 90 years old! Do you get the message here? Wherever you are on the health continuum, you can always improve your level of flexibility and strength.
